PECO Energy Force is a program that partners with nonprofit organizations (501c3) to train adults with developmental disabilities to serve as Ambassadors for PECO's Energy Efficiency.

Ambassadors receive training and resources to:

  • Help their peers and the public understand benefits of energy efficiency and conservation at home.
  • Teach people simple energy-saving tips by creating fun, interactive demonstrations.
  • Educate the public about ways to save energy and money.

Participating Nonprofit organizations:

  • Receive a $5,000 contribution to pay the Energy Force Ambassador a stipend for his/her participation.
  • Schedule and provide transportation for the Energy Force Ambassador for each event.

Requirements for participation:

Enrollment for the 2019-2020 program year has closed. Enrollment for the 2020-2021 program year will open in May 2020.

Participating non-profit organizations must be located in and serve residents within the PECO service territory.

PECO will provide Energy Force Ambassadors training about the basics of energy efficiency and conservation, PECO's energy-efficiency programs and tools on how to present the information. Each Ambassador is expected participate in 12 events between September 1, 2019 and August 31, 2020—at your own organizations, at PECO-sponsored events and in the community at-large. PECO has an outreach team that will assist in placing Energy Force Ambassadors at community events and provide support during the events. At the conclusion of the program year, Energy Force Ambassadors will be invited to participate in a graduation ceremony where they will receive a certificate for completing the program.

Each organization will be responsible for choosing their Energy Force Ambassador. Energy Force Ambassadors must be over 18 years of age and be able to speak, understand and read English. Additionally, your organization and the Energy Force Ambassador shall grant PECO permission to use pictures and videos taken for potential use in internal/external promotions.
